The Foundation

H.E.P. plays a major role in supporting and collaborating in terms of medical and surgical expertise in the field of ocular pathologies, with particular emphasis on the prevention and treatment of cataracts, corneal retinal infections and diabetic retinopathy, frequent causes of blindness in Nepal. H.E.P. has set up training and coaching support for students and surgeons to use new operating technologies for cataract surgery (phacoemulsification) through a training lab (wetlab) equipped with microscope , video system and phaco machine.

In addition, as part of the donation and acquisition of sophisticated medical equipment and instruments, H.E.P. ensures that appropriate and thorough training in their use is effective for practitioners and surgeons.
